Rick's Page of POWER!
Stuff on My Page
Since this is, in essence, a personal home page, I've got to get the standard stuff out of the way first. Below is the standard type stuff you'd find on a typical personal home page, including a bio, some links, and some of my writings.
- A Bit About MeHere you'll find a bit about who I am, and what I do for a living.
- My StuffLinks to things that I've written, reformatted, or enhanced in some way.
- Cool SearchesCool Search-type stuff I've found on the web. You can access these forms directly from this page. Enjoy!
- LinksThe obligatory links to other stuff I find to be cool.
- Rick's RantThis is where I let off some steam, and think about stuff. If you want to take a peek into my mind, this is the place to do it.
The Whitefield Sermon Archive
As of May 1, 1998, the Whitefield Sermon Archive is a featured site in the Hall of Church History.
The Whitefield Sermon Archive is up! I plan to offer some cool stuff through this site, like:
If you have any feedback for that site, please let me know.
Bible Studies
I've started, for the time being, leading a Bible study on Sunday nights. Our current topic is The Attributes of God. My goal is to keep current material on the web site here. Feel free to use it as-is, or as a springboard into deeper studies. Like I said, I'll try to keep it current, but I'm not making any promises. If I'm behind, and you notice it, keep me accountable via email.
In addition to the information at the site, the entire study will be formatted as an Logos Lesson Builder Document. Anyone who owns the application can do this, check it out to see what the possibilities are.
Logos Library System Tips
The LLS Tips Page has been around for awhile. These tips for using the Logos Library System might help you out, they may not. I've also added some capability to the site with some CGI scripts, including:
- A basic search engine to search the tips and return hits to the user.
- A really cool Keyboard Map generating tool. Well, I think it's cool, anyway.
- A Tip Submission/Feedback form that you can use to tell me what you think about the page.
The Jive Compiler
The Jive Compiler is one of those things that is just funny to me. I hope I don't offend anyone, no disprespect is meant.
I found a version of the original Jive Compiler written in C for UNIX. I went through the code, cleaned up and removed some of the obscenities, and rewrote it in Perl, so it works off of the NT server that runs this site (thanks, PioneerNet).
If you've never seen the Jive Compiler, you've got to give it a shot. It's worth a laugh. I may try to update it in the future so you can feed it HTML and essentially browse the net in Jive. Now, that would be funny.
A Side Note
This site uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), which are best viewed with Internet Explorer 4.0 and Netscrape ... er, uh, that's Netscape 4.0 or above. IE 3.0 is supposed to handle CSS, but I hear it doesn't do too well. You'll see the page without IE 4.0 or Netscape 4.0; but it looks much better with a newer browser. If you don't see the background (on most pages), the fonts look plain-Jane, and there are no left/right margins, then take the time to download one.
